Lucky residents of southwestern Ontario, Canada, can see the 1935 film of The Mystery of Edwin Drood on the big screen tomorrow night. Details are here.
Speaking of Dickens films, I've recently seen a couple of pretty good articles mentioning them. This one includes three Dickensian films on a list of "movies embodying the Christian vision of the world," and this one contains some high praise for David Lean's film of Great Expectations from a writer who's hardly even read any Dickens. (Who knows, maybe he'll be lured to the Dickensian Side yet . . . )
ETA: Almost forgot: Here's another positive review of a Dickens film, the 2002 version of Nicholas Nickleby, by another non-Dickens-reader. Click on "Current Issue" and then "Download."
