The last installment was all about the villains getting together for nefarious scheming (sounds familiar!). Oh, and Sim thinks that he may have finally found a candidate to marry Miggs, if he can just get him drunk enough. This week, read chapters 41 and 42.
The opening passage of ch 41 reminds me why I love to read Dickens…it just feels good!
I am the biggest sucker in the world for Dickens’ peculiar brand of humor. It makes me laugh aloud just to imagine the effect on those around her when Miggs’ married sister, after reading an inflammatory article by Lord George Gordon “had raved of the Inquisition ever since; to the great improvement of her husband and friends.”
