As the founder of the Dickens Society of Baltimore in 2010, I always felt Mike’s warm welcome and support — whether on a visit to a Friends of Dickens New York meeting perhaps in 2011 or 2012, or at the Morgan library exhibit on Dickens or when seeing him at the 2014 annual conference in Chicago. Sorry to have been out of touch with him in recent years, but I fully understand the sense of loss of NYC Dickensians.
